SARAYA takes part in the Antimicrobial Awareness Week annual WHO campaign, which will be held on 18-24 November 2022.
The upcoming week will be dedicated to the so-called Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) that keeps spreading among pathogenic microorganisms, such as bacteria, viruses, and fungi, and the problems it leads to. The more we overuse or misuse antibiotics, the more they evolve and adjust to avoid their effects and keep reproducing, causing infectious diseases. The chosen theme for this year's WAAW was “Preventing antimicrobial resistance together” which reminds us that not only people but animals and plants suffer from AMR and we should work together with all spheres to protect our well-being.
There are many ways to get involved and help spread the message around the world, such as sharing your stories on social media, watching a webinar, organizing events in your hospitals, having discussion panels, or just “Going Blue for AMR” on social media to raise awareness.
WAAW is supported and actively promoted by World Health Organization, and you can find more detailed information about the campaign and facts about antimicrobial resistance on the WHO official website:
