Engaging Patients for Patient Safety: Celebrating World Patient Safety Day

There is no argument that patients, families and caregivers are a crucial part of the healthcare treatment process, a critical factor in ensuring their safety. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), active participation in treatment often leads to higher levels of satisfaction and better outcomes. This conviction became the driving force behind the slogan of the 2023 World Patient Safety Day: "Elevate the voice of patients!"

Campaign Objective:

World Patient Safety Day 2023 has committed to the theme of "Engaging patients for patient safety" and the slogan of "Elevate the voice of patients!" With the ultimate goal of improving healthcare safety worldwide, the campaign strives to encourage patients, families, healthcare leaders, policymakers, health workers and patient organizations to join in collaboration and design healthcare policies and safety measures that prioritize the needs and preferences of patients.
