World AMR Awareness Week 2025: Act Now: Protect Our Present, Secure Our Future

SARAYA supports World AMR Awareness Week 2025, held from 18–24 November.

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) continues to be one of the most pressing public health challenges of our time. This growing threat which affects not only human health but also food systems, the environment, and global economies, happens when microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites adapt and stop responding to antimicrobial treatments, making common infections increasingly difficult to treat.

The World AMR Awareness Week (WAAW) aims to raise awareness and inspire action to stop the spread of drug-resistant infections. The theme for 2025, “Act Now: Protect Our Present, Secure Our Future,” calls on everyone across health, agriculture, and environmental sectors to take meaningful steps today to preserve the effectiveness of antimicrobials for tomorrow. Whether improving hygiene practices, ensuring the responsible use of antibiotics, or supporting sustainable systems that reduce the spread of resistant pathogens, every effort contributes to safeguarding health for future generations.

World AMR Awareness Week is supported and promoted by the World Health Organization. To learn more about AMR and how you can contribute to global action, please visit:
