SARAYA joins World AMR Awareness Week 2023

Every year, SARAYA participates in the Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week annual WHO campaign, which will be held on 18-24 November 2023. This year isn’t an exception!

The week is dedicated to raising awareness about Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR), the growing issue of pathogenic microorganisms, such as bacteria, viruses and fungi, which are becoming resistant to antibiotics, leading to the spread of infectious diseases. Overuse or misuse of antibiotics is the main cause of AMR, as microorganisms evolve and adjust to avoid their effects. The theme for this year's WAAW campaign remains the same as last year – "Preventing antimicrobial resistance together." It serves as an important reminder that all of us, including animals and plants, are affected by AMR and all spheres must work together to protect our future and well-being.

There are many different ways to participate and contribute to spreading the message globally: you can share your personal stories on social media, attend a webinar, organize events like discussion panels or awareness campaigns in your hospitals, or simply "Go Blue for AMR" on social media to raise awareness. Let's all do our part in preventing antimicrobial resistance together!

World AMR Awareness Week is supported and actively promoted by the World Health Organization, and you can find more detailed information about the campaign and facts about antimicrobial resistance on the WHO official website:
