Join SARAYA on October 20th to recognize Clean Hospitals Day 2026

Annually, on October 20th, we celebrate Clean Hospitals Day to raise awareness of the vital role environmental hygiene plays in healthcare.

This year’s theme, “Empowerment”, highlights the importance of equipping and supporting the people responsible for healthcare environmental hygiene. By providing the knowledge, resources, training, and recognition they need, we can help them carry out their work effectively, strengthen infection prevention, and contribute to safer healthcare environments.

Healthcare-associated infections remain a significant global patient-safety challenge. While infection prevention requires a comprehensive approach, maintaining clean healthcare environments is an important part of reducing risks. Without consistent cleaning and disinfection, pathogens can persist on surfaces, medical equipment, and within healthcare infrastructure, potentially contributing to the spread of infections.

As a long-standing partner, SARAYA is proud to support this year’s campaign to strengthen environmental cleaning as a key component of infection prevention in healthcare settings. In support of this shared commitment, Clean Hospitals prepared a free promotional toolkit with resources for organizations and individuals. The toolkit includes posters, social media tiles, a photo frame, selfie boards, animations, a video-conferencing background, a poster maker, screensavers, and a fact sheet.

Clean Hospitals Day is an opportunity to recognize the dedicated professionals whose work makes clean care possible every day. Environmental services teams, infection prevention specialists, healthcare workers, facility managers, and other professionals all contribute to maintaining high standards of environmental hygiene. By recognizing their contributions and empowering them with the right tools and support, healthcare organizations can strengthen prevention efforts and promote safer care for everyone.
